Just gonna type it here, might change it till something actually starts. Matsunoki Island, is an island known in the north blue by its blacksmiths. The biggest (maybe only) school of blacksmitting in the lesser oceans (north, south, east, west), with 4 teachers and about 50 students. Ringo wasn't born in the island, but always lived there with his grandfather Ringo Heika. Former blacksmith and mayor of the village. Joined the school at the age of 4, cleaned and did chores around the school until he was 10 before he actually started attending classes. Around the village people's opinion about Jacks were divided, some thought of him as a very hard working boy others looked at him as a dangerous kid. Even before he started learning how to blacksmith he always had alot of affection towards the weapons being made by his elders. He would wield every bladed weapon he could get his hands on, obviously he got grounded and scolded every time! One day when he was 12, marines showed up at his island with an order to confiscate every weapon, to forbid the production of weapons and to close down the school. Their reasons were that many of the weapons being fabricated there were being sold to pirates on their way to the grand line. The citizens obviously revolted, the selling of weapons was the only method of profit in the village. So the marines, (AS IF THEY WERE REALLY NICE ), proposed a condition in keeping the school opened, every weapon produced would have to be for the marines, and a marine outpost would be built on the island in order to "protect" it from pirates. The island became a marine mass weapon production center in the north blue...the weapons produced in the school were always result of the teachings given at the school, but the marines forced a batch to be created every month. So every month a marine lieutenant would arrive at the island to collect that month's batch. The village having no skilled fighters, could not defend themselves, even if they did they couldn't fight the marines almost dictatorship over the island. With the threat of being accused as an enemy of the world government every month the master blacksmiths of that town kept teaching and producing weapons every month.... For 3 years they kept producing, and they kept getting abused by the marines. The kids didn't notice the lack of freedom imposed by the marines in the island, but after getting a bit older Jacks started to feel grudge towards the marines for occupying the village and doing whatever they want. Many times he wanted to barge into the marine outpost and force them to leave, but every attempt was stopped by his grandfather, wise man indeed. One night 2 drunk marines walking around town found this girl walking to her home and started harassing her, jacks coming from school on his way home walked into them hugging her and trying to kiss her, revolted with all these years of oppression he drew a sword he crafted at school and killed both of the marines. It was the first time any of his weapons got tainted with blood. After seeing if the girl was ok he asked her not to tell anyone of what happened that night and told her to go home. That night he dragged the bodies to the shore and threw them to the sea and went home. Two days later, in the morning while walking to school, a platoon of about 20 marines and a marine captain charged into the village and ordered everyone to gather. They found 2 dead bodies that washed up in the beach. They were identified as marines working in that island, so the perpetrator was in the island. Sweating and stressing, jacks didnt know what to do. The marine captain stepped forward and asked very calmly who killed them, and then he yelled ordering the killer to step forward or he would make sure to burn the whole village down in the name of justice. Not wanting to sacrifice the entire village, jacks toke one last look at his grandfather, the man that since he remenbered always toke care of him, his grampa looked at him with a very proud look. "I did it." With his hand raised, Ringo Heika stepped forward admiting to the crime he didn't commit, without a moment hesitation the marine captain drew his gun and shot him he in the head. This better serve as an example to all of you, yelled the captain and left. Everyone was in shock, no one could believe such a cold blooded murder. He was not only Jacks' grandfather, he was everyone's grandfather. Tears came down Jacks' face even with his usual serious attitude, he couldn't help but cry. In anger he jumped and ran towards the marines, the 4 master blacksmiths held him down, the sacrifice of the mayor would go in vain he would just attack them like that. A month after that event, he got called to the school council by the 4 master smiths. They informed him that his grandfather left something for him, a hammer that he used when he was a blacksmith, as a gift to him. The hammer was made of metal, called Mugenkou a very black metal, and they told him the metal, was the rarest metal in the world. The secrets to it were lost through time, how to craft it, whats it made off. He bowed to them and told them he would become the greatest blacksmith and will craft one of each weapon style with that metal, in the name of that village, in the name of his grandfather. Those next 5 years he focused only on learning everything he could from his masters and research about that metal. EDIT: After his 20th birthday, Ringo decided to leave the island and venture the sea in look for Mugenkou and its secrets. Before leaving a young man of small stature approached him, he heard of that island and how they fabricated weapons and had the best blacksmiths all across the sea. He told him how he was stopped by multiple marines and accused of being a pirate when he tried to go in the school and buy himself whatever he was looking for. Considering that moment as a signal that he definitively had to move on and leave the island, he wanted to for the first time have someone wield weapons created by him, so Ringo promised him if he waited a week he would bring him the best weapons he ever created. And so for that whole week, using all the knowledge and practice he gained throughout those 10 years he crafted two beautiful wakizashi, he called them kuro and shiro naming them after the color of their hilts. He met the young traveler again that waited on his small boat that whole week, and gave him the wakizashi. His name was Misk. That day Ringo told Misk about everything that had been going on on that island, and how he wanted to go to sea and look for Mugenkou. Surprisingly enough Misk was super interested in that metal, recognizing that moment as a turning point of his entire life Ringo asked Misk to join him on his quest, travelling alone would become dull eventually. With a friend Ringo left the island promising his masters and fellow villagers that one day he would be back and return the hammer to his grandfather, for that day he would be a master blacksmith.
