Backstory: Fargo Sustanivo was born on a small island in the North Blue called Ranesburg not known for much anything, the people were nice, and money was plentiful, but the most exiting thing was when pirates passed through the island. every few weeks a pirate crew would show up and stay on the island for a few days. Many of them would tell stories of warlords and sea-kings, and some would even challenge the island’s tougher citizens to brawls in the street. Fargo had grown up teaching himself to fight and to navigate, this was because even though the pirates never presented a threat, his mother would always admonish him with tales of evil pirates, ones who would ransack villages and kill civilians. The town mostly survived off of the trade the pirates induced, and it was a simple economy, the town needed the pirates for money, and the pirates needed a place to rest and stock up before continuing their journey. And even though the pirates were a vital part of society in his village, he continued to train to fight them in case the worst happened.
During this time, Fargo trained with the best fighters passing through the island, every up and coming pirate crew sent their fighters at him, and even though he had lost in the beginning, he started to get better and better. When fargo was 17, a dangerous yet kind seeming man passed through the village, the man was a pirate by the name of Reeko Romano. Romano was famous in these parts, every other week he appeared in newspaper headlines detailing his exploits; however, Fargo was not one to back down from a chance to test his skill, so he challenged Romano to a duel. The rules were simple, no foul play. Fargo started off being able to dodge and parry Romano's attacks, and Romano then realized he was facing a promising fighter. It was at this point that Romano stopped going easy on him, within moments Fargo was incapacitated, and even though he lacked the skill to beat the pirate, Romano saw promise in him. Romano stayed on the island for 4 weeks, and during those three weeks, he trained Fargo in fighting. This was the first time that he received formal training and he was slow to pick it up at first, but eventually prospered. Romano left the island, and since then Fargo vowed to see him again.
Not one week passed after romano left the island before a more sinister pirate crew came to the shores of his peaceful island. The crew was captained by Kami L. Sori, a ruthless pirate with a 35,000,000 bounty and a reputation for ransacking villages and murdering civilians. In a vicious 3-day attack, Sori razed the village, reaping it of everything of value. Te village continued to fight back even though it seemed as if all hope was lost. On the fourth day, Fargo took his stand. The boy walked right into the hold in which Sori was staying, and defeated most of his subordinates, and when only the Capitan and a select few remained, Sori entered the fray. Fargo learned the hard way that one earns a 35,000,000 bounty. Unlike the venerable pirates he faced before, Sori fought with rampant unsportsmanlike conduct, attempting to attack Fargo while he was down. The fight went on for several minutes, and whil Fargo put up the good fight, it was clear as to who the victor was since the beginning. Sori Left Fargo to die in the once peaceful streets of his home, and Fargo would not awake for days.
When Fargo exited his slumber, the town was starting the road to recovery, people picked up the rubble, and houses were being rebuilt. Fargo went into the street only to be greeted by a marine patrol, “stat your name and business,” shouted the large man heading the patrol “my name is Fargo and I live here,” the reply was met 1ith scornful distaste as the marines explained the new curfew laws to him. Apparently, no civilian was allowed outside after 6:30 unless on official business, this, as Fargo would soon learn, was the least of the tyranny about to unfold. The marines forced the blacksmiths and shipwrights to farm a cash crop of tobacco and wheat, and the women were made the brides of naval officers. This persisted until Fargo was 19 years old and decided to take a stand. He had trained for 2 years, and he was finally ready to rid the island of the marine scum. He burst into their outpost ready to take whatever tey threw at him, and in the process of half an hour, he defeated all 24 marines and their lieutenant. Fargo knew he was the hero of his village, but he could not stay there, so he became a merc in the grand line.
After one particularly eventful job, his client declined to pay him in money, insisting that he accept a fruit instead. Fargo had heard of devil’s fruits before, but had never expected that this was one. Being the kind person that he is, Fargo assumed that the man just had no money and took the fruit, promptly eating it. After witnessing this the man walked off saying “you’ll need this more than money.” Fargo only months later realized what he had done, during a sparring fight he unsheathed he swords in a rapid motion and sent several men flying backwards. Even after 2 years of knowing of his fruit powers, he still is far from mastering them; however, he now views himself as powerful enough to join a crew and try and make a difference.
Again, anybody who wishes to illustrate Fargo, i would be happy. And any questions below
